How To Choose The Best Spyderco Hundred Pacer

Spyderco has been making knives since the early 1980s, and their products have become synonymous with quality. Their line of pocketknives includes everything from everyday carry blades to tactical folders, and they also make other tools such as flashlights and multitools. The company was founded by master craftsman Steve Rizzo, who still designs every single tool himself. This makes Spyderco knives unique because each blade is made entirely by hand, and they are designed specifically for the user's individual preferences.

What Is A Spyderco Hundred Pacer?

The Spyderco Hundred Pacer is an excellent pocketknife for everyday carry. It has all the features you would expect from a Spyderco folder including a drop point blade made from CPM S30V steel, lanyard hole, thumb studs, and a reversible tip up/tip down clip. The handle scales are G10 and the overall length is 5.5 inches. This model comes with a black titanium frame lock and a black leather sheath.

Who needs a Spyderco Hundred Pacer?

The Spyderco Hundred Pacer is one of the most versatile knives I own. It has quickly become my favorite pocketknife. Why? Because it does everything I ask of it. It opens easily, closes smoothly, slices through anything, and holds its edge beautifully. But, it doesn't stop there. It's also comfortable to hold and use. And it comes in a variety of sizes and colors.

I love this knife for camping trips, hunting, fishing, hiking, and any other outdoor activity where I'm likely to encounter things that require a blade. It's perfect for cutting rope, splitting wood, opening cans, and slicing cheese.

It's made from stainless steel which makes it durable and corrosion resistant. Its handle is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand. And its black G10 scales add a touch of style to the package.

This model features a 3.5 inch drop point blade with a thumb ramp. It also includes a lanyard hole for attaching to your keychain. And it ships with a nylon sheath.

The Spyderco Hundred Pacer is available in three models. Each model has a unique color scheme.

Each model weighs 1.2 ounces and measures 5 inches overall. It fits perfectly in my pocket. And it feels solid in my hands. I highly recommend this knife for anyone interested in purchasing a quality pocketknife.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Spyderco Hundred Pacer

If you've ever owned a pocketknife, then you already understand how important it is to purchase quality knives. You wouldn't want to use a cheap knife because it could break or malfunction. Likewise, you shouldn't buy a Spyderco Hundred Pacer if it doesn't perform up to expectations. This pocketknife is one of the best selling models by Spyderco. So, here are some reasons why you should invest in a quality Spyderco Hundred Pacer:

It's built like a tank. The Spyderco Hundred Pacer features a solid steel blade that is designed to withstand heavy duty tasks. This pocketknife is built to handle whatever task you throw at it. It's made from hardened stainless steel so it won't rust or corrode. When you open the blade, you'll notice that the blade is extremely sharp. This makes cutting through tough materials easy. Plus, the blade stays razor sharp for years thanks to its proprietary coating.

It's lightweight. Unlike most other pocketknives, the Spyderco Hundred Pacer weighs less than 2 ounces. This means that it's easier to carry around. Because it's light, it's perfect for people who travel frequently. And since it's smaller, it takes up less space in your pockets.

It's ergonomically designed. The Spyderco Hundred Pacer is designed to provide maximum control. For example, the thumb studs have been placed where they are easily accessible. This allows you to quickly grab the blade when needed. The finger grooves are large enough to accommodate even thick gloves. These design elements work together to create a pocketknife that feels great in your hand.

It's affordable. This price point makes it ideal for beginners. Plus, you can find deals on used Spyderco Hundred Pacers online. There are plenty of sellers willing to sell their old model for a fraction of the original cost.

Features To Consider When Buying A Spyderco Hundred Pacer

Blade steel. The blade steel used in a folding knife matters just as much as the handle material does. In this case, we're talking about carbon steels. Carbon steels are strong and durable, but they tend to rust easily if exposed to moisture. That's why most folding knives today are made from stainless steel.

Handle design. There are two main types of handles available for folding knives: clip point and drop point. Clip points are popular among outdoorsmen because they allow you to carry the knife in either a pocket or sheath. Drop points are more versatile than clip points because they work well for opening cans and other tasks where you need a little bit of leverage.

Lockback mechanism. Some folding knives feature a lockback mechanism that allows you to quickly deploy the blade without having to pull the entire knife out of its sheath. This type of mechanism makes it easier to access the blade while wearing gloves, especially during cold weather.

Stainless steel liners. Stainless steel liners prevent corrosion and extend the lifespan of the blade. They also give the knife a sleek appearance.

Grip texturing. Grip texturing provides additional traction and prevents slipping. Grips can be found on both sides of the handle, although many manufacturers only put them on the right side.

Pocket clip. Pocket clips are useful for clipping the knife onto a belt loop or purse strap. Most models have a lanyard hole on the spine of the handle for attaching a keychain.

Overall length. Long blades are great for cutting through thick materials such as cardboard boxes or plywood sheets. Short blades are ideal for smaller jobs like opening packages or slicing bread.

Blade shape. Blade shapes range from straight to curved. Straight blades are typically used for chopping wood or skinning animals. Curved blades are often preferred for precision cuts like filleting fish or trimming vegetables.

Different Types Of Spyderco Hundred Pacer

Spyderco’s Hundred series knives were originally created by Jeff Cooper. He was inspired by his love of vintage pocketknives and wanted to create something that combined the functionality of a folder with the style of a fixed blade. His goal was to create a knife that could handle everything from opening cans to skinning deer.

The original Spyderco Hundred series included three models; the C100GP, C200GP, and C300GP. Each model had its own distinct features and design. For example, the C300GP featured a full tang construction and a clip point blade. The C200GP came with a drop point blade and the C100GP had a modified drop point blade. All three models were produced until 2011 when the C300GP was discontinued. Since then, the company has continued to release updated models including the C400GP and C500GP.

Today, the Spyderco Hundred series includes five models. The C100GP remains unchanged since its introduction. The C200GP now comes in two variations; a standard version and a tactical version. Both feature a 3.5 inch blade length and a black G10 handle. The C300GP is essentially identical to the C200GP except that it has a 4.0 inch blade instead of a 3.5 inch blade. The C400GP is a larger version of the C300GP featuring a 5.0 inch blade. Finally, the C500GP is a large tactical version of the C400GP. It features a 6.0 inch blade and a titanium frame lock mechanism.

Each of the current models share the same basic design. They each include a stainless steel linerlock assisted open/close system. The handles are constructed from G10 and are secured with lanyard hole covers. A lanyard hole cover is located between the thumb stud and the main body of the knife. The lanyard hole cover prevents accidental activation of the hidden safety button. The blades are hollow ground and feature a satin finish. They are manufactured in Spyderco’s factory in Taiwan.
