Star Wars fans have been waiting patiently for the release of The Force Awakens since December 2015. Now, after months of hype, the film has finally hit cinemas across the globe. If you haven't seen the movie yet, then now is the time to get yourself into the mood by watching the trailer below. We've also included a list of our favourite Star Wars items, as well as a few other products that we think would make great gifts for the fan in your life.
Microtech has been making high quality tactical gear for over 30 years. They make some of the best knife blades around and now they've decided to branch into the world of firearms. The new Microtech Star Wars line of handguns was released this year and I had the chance to try out two models at SHOT Show 2017. These guns were made specifically for law enforcement officers but civilians will find these guns very useful too.
This pistol features an ambidextrous safety/decocker, slide stop lever, reversible magazine release, and a loaded chamber indicator.
This model is similar to the 9mm version except it uses a different caliber bullet. It has all the same features as the 9mm version plus a laser sight and a thumbhole stock.
The original Star Wars trilogy was released back in 1977. Since then, fans have been clamoring for new adventures. Fortunately, we now live in a world where we can order our favorite characters right off the shelf. But sometimes, it's nice to create your own version of the galaxy far, far away. After all, this is the internet, after all.
That's exactly what one man did. He created his very own Microtech Star Wars knife set. These knives feature authentic designs inspired by the films. Each blade has its own unique look and feel. Some blades are made from stainless steel while others are crafted from carbon steel. All of these knives are hand forged and finished with a blackened finish. They're perfect for any fan of the movies.
Each knife features a solid handle made from wood. The handles are wrapped in leather and each knife comes with a sheath. The sheaths are designed to fit snugly around the handle. They're comfortable enough to wear during everyday tasks but still allow you to easily access your weapon. And since the sheaths are handmade, every knife is slightly different. No two sets are alike.
This isn't the only Microtech product that takes inspiration from the movie series. Fans can also purchase other items such as lightsabers, holsters, and blasters. Of course, you can also customize your own lightsaber hilt using laser etching technology.
These products aren't cheap. However, they do offer quality craftsmanship. And they're definitely worth checking out. Especially if you're a fan of the movies.
Star Wars fans have come to expect great things from their favorite movie franchise. And they've come to expect them from Microtech. After all, Microtech makes many of the weapons used by the heroes and villains of the galaxy far, far away. So when it came time to create a microtech knife set inspired by the classic trilogy, we knew we had to do something special. We wanted to take advantage of the amazing detail found in the original trilogy, so we decided to use a laser etching technique called "laser engraving." This method allows us to add incredible details like the iconic lightsabers seen in the movies. We even added a small replica of the Death Star trench droid seen in A New Hope.
We hope you enjoy this unique collection as much as we enjoyed creating it. Please note that this product is limited edition and may not be available after December 31st, 2015.

Microtech Star Wars blades measure approximately 1 inch wide x 2 inches long. Blade length varies depending on model. Blades include a black plastic insert to prevent scratching surfaces.
Blaster pistol measures approximately 4.5 inches long. Pistol features a black polymer grip and slide. Includes a red tip cap.
Blade length. The longer the blade, the more effective it is against tough materials. However, the longer the blade, the heavier it is. That means it takes more effort to swing and stab. But if you're using it for self defense, you may not mind having a heavy knife.
Weight. The lighter the weight, the easier it is to handle. This makes it easier to wield during close quarters fighting. But if you plan to carry this knife outside of the house, you may want something with a little heft.
Handle material. Knives made from carbon steel are strong and durable. They tend to hold their edge well over time. But they're also very hard to sharpen. Carbon steel blades are great for outdoor activities where you'll be sharpening them yourself. But if you're going to be carrying this knife inside your pocket, you may want something else.
Stainless steel is softer than carbon steel. And while stainless steel doesn't rust, it does wear down faster. Stainless steel blades are ideal for indoor uses. But if you're planning to carry this knife outdoors, you may want to opt for carbon steel instead.
Length. Longer blades mean more reach. But they also weigh more. If you're looking for a lightweight weapon, you may want to stick with a shorter blade. On the other hand, if you want a knife that has plenty of reach, you may want to go with a longer blade.
Overall balance. Knives with balanced handles are easier to control. But they're also less intimidating. Some people prefer knives with unbalanced handles. These knives are harder to control. But they're also easier to throw.
