How To Choose The Best Crkt Windage

A good folding knife is essential for every man who enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting, camping, fishing, hiking, etc. However, choosing the right folding knife can be quite challenging because there are so many options available. This article will help you narrow down your choices by providing information on what to look for in a quality folding knife.

What Is A Crkt Windage?

The Crkt Windage is an innovative design for storing knives in a safe manner. The Windage is a unique product because it folds up into its own carrying case, making it easy to transport and store. It has been specifically designed to fit all Rugers folders, including the new Ruger LCR series. The Windage comes complete with a locking mechanism to secure the blade inside the case. This allows the user to carry the Windage around without worrying about losing the knife while traveling.

Why Should I Buy This Product?

If you want a convenient way to safely store your knives, the Crkt Windage is perfect for you! You will never lose your knife again!

Who needs a Crkt Windage?

The Ruger CRKT Windage Knife is one of our favorite knives. We love its sleek design, comfortable handle, and how it folds right back into itself. But we didn't realize until recently that this knife has a hidden feature that makes it even better.

This is a great feature for anyone who likes to carry a knife but doesn't want to carry around extra gear. It's perfect for camping trips, hiking, hunting, fishing, and any other outdoor activities where carrying a tool isn't necessary.

We think it's pretty cool that Ruger included such a useful feature in a knife designed for everyday use. Now that we know about it, we'd recommend getting one for every person in your family.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Crkt Windage

If you've ever owned a gun, then you already understand how important it is to purchase a quality firearm. A poorly constructed firearm could cost you thousands of dollars if something goes wrong. This is especially true if you have a Ruger CRKT Windage Knife. You want to ensure that your knife is built properly so that it won't break down after years of use. Here are some things to keep in mind when buying a quality CRKT Windage Knife:

Look for a blade that feels solid in your hand. When you hold a knife, do you notice any vibrations? Do you feel like the blade is moving freely? If you find that the blade is vibrating, then you should probably pass on the knife. Quality knives should never move in your hands.

Check the edge retention. Does the blade stay sharp even after extended periods of use? How many times can you sharpen the blade? These two questions are very important because they determine whether or not the knife will perform well in the field. For example, if you sharpen the blade once every month, then you'll likely have trouble keeping up with the demands of hunting. On the other hand, if you sharpen the blade twice a year, then you'll have plenty of life left in the blade.

Make sure that the handle is comfortable. Is the grip smooth? Are the scales comfortable? Make sure that the knife feels natural in your hand. If you're uncomfortable holding the knife, then you shouldn't buy it.

Look for a warranty. Warranties are great because they protect you against manufacturing defects. However, warranties aren't perfect. They often cover only certain parts of the knife. For instance, most warranties cover the blade, but not the sheath. So, if you lose the knife, then you might be stuck paying for a replacement.

Don't skimp on the price tag. While you may think that cheap knives are better, they usually aren't. Cheap knives tend to wear out quickly. And, cheap knives are typically made of inferior materials.

Features To Consider When Buying A Crkt Windage

Windage. The term "windage" refers to how far a blade extends past the handle. This measurement is important because it determines how well the knife performs when cutting. The longer the blade extends beyond the handle, the more stable the knife becomes during use.

Blade length. Long blades tend to perform better than shorter ones, since they give you more control over where the blade goes when you cut.

Handle material. Knives made from wood or plastic are typically lighter than those made from metal. Metal handles are stronger and hold their shape better, but they weigh more.

Weight. Heavy knives are harder to maneuver and may slip if you accidentally bump them while using them. Lightweight knives are easier to carry and use, but they lack strength.

Stainless steel. Stainless steel is strong and durable, but it tends to rust easily. Some stainless steels are coated to prevent this problem.

Crank knobs. These knobs allow you to adjust the blade angle, which makes it easier to slice through tough materials like bone. They also enable you to lock the blade into place for safer handling.

Folding. Folding knives are popular among outdoorsmen and hunters because they're compact and light enough to pack along on hunting trips. But they're also great for everyday tasks such as opening cans and slicing vegetables.

Ruger has created several models of folding knives, each featuring unique features. Here are some of the most common types:

CRKT Ruger Compact Knife. This model is ideal for everyday tasks like opening cans and slicing vegetables. Its lightweight design allows you to carry the knife comfortably even though its blade measures only 2 1/8 inches.

CRKT Ruger Windage Folder. This model is similar to the CRKT Ruger Compact Knife except it has a slightly larger blade that extends farther past the handle.

Different Types Of Crkt Windage

The Ruger CRKT Windage series was introduced in 2012. It features a blade that folds away when not in use. When folded up, the blade is stored safely behind the handle. This allows the user to keep the blade hidden until ready to use. The blades are constructed from stainless steel and feature a black oxide finish. Each blade is individually numbered and engraved with the model name and serial number. The handles are made from G10 and are laser etched with the model name and serial number. The grips are ergonomically shaped and textured for comfort and control. All models include a lanyard hole and pocket clip. The CRKT Windage line includes three models; the CRKT Windage Tactical, the CRKT Windage Compact, and the CRKT Windage Utility.

CRKT Windage Tactical. The CRKT Windage Tactical is a tactical style folder with a 3.5 inch drop point blade. The blade is fully serrated and has a thumb ramp. The handle scales are smooth and contoured for comfortable grip. A lanyard hole is located on top of the frame. The CRKT Windage Tactical is offered in two sizes; compact and utility. The compact version weighs 2 ounces less than its larger counterpart. Both knives are shipped with a belt sheath.

CRKT Windage Compact. The CRKT Windage Compact is a smaller version of the CRKT Windage Tactical. It measures 1.75 inches overall length and weighs 4.4 ounces. The blade is slightly thinner than the larger version. The CRKT Windage Compact is offered in two sizes; compact and utility. The compact version weighs about half as much as the larger version.

CRKT Windage Utility. The CRKT Windage Utility is a full tang fixed blade with a 5.0 inch drop point blade.
