How To Choose The Best Crkt Achi

A chi is a Japanese kitchen knife used for cutting food. The name comes from the Chinese character meaning 'to cut'.

In this article, we take a look at what makes a good achi, and why you might want to invest in one.

What Is A Crkt Achi?

The Crkt Achi is an extremely sharpened Japanese style knife made by Burnley Knives. The blades are hand forged using traditional methods and materials. They are available in different sizes and styles including a folding model for easy portability. These knives are perfect for everyday carry because they are small enough to fit into any pocket yet still offer excellent cutting performance.

Where Can I Buy One?

You will find all of our products there along with many others. If you don't see what you're looking for, just let us know and we'll get it added!

Is It Safe To Carry In My Pocket?

Yes, these knives are safe to carry in your pocket. However, if you want something more durable than a simple pocketknife, check out our .

The Crkt Achi is a versatile tool that allows you to cut through anything. Whether you use it for cutting paper, cardboard, wood, plastic, metal, glass, or leather, this knife has you covered.

It features a stainless steel blade that keeps its edge longer than other knives. Its handle is made of rubberized nylon which makes it comfortable to hold. The ergonomic design ensures that you can easily grip the knife while using it.

This knife comes with a black powder coated finish that gives it a sleek look. It weighs only 2 ounces and measures 5 inches long. It's perfect for everyday carry.

The Crkt Achi is one of our best selling products. We offer it in three sizes - 3 1/2 inch, 4 inch, and 6 inch. Each size is sold separately.

We recommend getting the smallest size for beginners. However, if you're experienced, then you can opt for the larger sizes.

Whether you're new to knifes or you've been carrying around a knife for years, we hope you'll love the Crkt Achi.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Crkt Achi

If you've ever had the pleasure of trying a Crkt Achi, then you'll understand how amazing they are. They have become one of my favorite knives. I use them every single day. So, if you haven't tried one yet, you should definitely do so. You won't regret it!

They're easy to clean. When you wash your hands after cutting something, you may notice that your other hand gets dirty. This happens because you didn't rinse your hands properly. Instead, you used soap to wash off the food particles. Unfortunately, soap doesn't work very well against bacteria. And, since most people don't rinse their hands thoroughly, bacteria builds up quickly. This means that you end up spreading germs everywhere. Fortunately, a Crkt Achi cuts through grease like butter. Because of this, you can easily wipe away any leftover food particles. Plus, you can even use soap to clean the blades.

They're durable. Unlike many knives, a Crkt Achi isn't going to break down over time. In fact, they're built to withstand heavy use. This is great news for those who love to cook. Since you won't have to worry about replacing your knife often, you can focus on cooking instead of worrying about sharpening.

They're affordable. Compared to other knives, a Crkt Achi is incredibly cheap. Compare that to a set of 10 regular knives that cost nearly double that amount. Of course, you could buy ten sets of regular knives, but you'd probably end up paying more in the long run.

They're eco-friendly. All Crkts Achi come with a lifetime warranty. This means that you're protected against defects in materials and manufacturing. This makes it easier for you to try out a Crkt Achi.

Features To Consider When Buying A Crkt Achi

Sharp blades. The first step to using a knife effectively is sharpening it properly. This means having a quality knife made from stainless steel, such as ACHI. If you're unsure about how to sharpen knives, ask someone who knows how to do it. Then, follow these tips to ensure you get the most out of your new knife.

Keep it clean. Keep your knife clean. Use soap and warm water to wash off dirt and grime. Rinse well and dry thoroughly. Don't put your knife in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water overnight. Doing this could dull its edge.

Use a cutting board. Cutting boards are great tools for keeping your kitchen tidy. They protect surfaces from food splatters and stains while allowing you to cut safely. Choose a sturdy cutting board that fits your needs. Some boards are large enough to hold several items at once. Others are smaller and more versatile.

Store it right. Store your knife in its sheath. Make sure the sheath is tight enough to prevent slippage. Place it where it's easily accessible, but out of reach of children. And store it away from heat and moisture.

Don't let kids play with it. Kids love playing with knives. But they shouldn't handle them unsupervised. Teach them proper knife safety and then give them their own set of knives.

Be careful with it. Be careful when handling your knife. Hold it by the blade only. Never touch the handle. And never point the tip toward yourself or another person. These actions can cause serious injury.

Handle it gently. Handle your knife carefully. Always wipe it down immediately after each use. Wipe it against a damp cloth rather than wiping it directly onto a surface. This prevents fingerprints and grease marks.

Wear gloves. Wear leather gloves if you work outdoors. Leather gloves are easier to clean than rubber ones. Rubber gloves may trap bacteria and germs between the glove and skin. Leather gloves allow you to grip objects firmly.

Different Types Of Crkt Achi

It was originally created by Masakuni Ikeda in Japan in the early 1900s. He later brought his design to America where it became known as the Burnley Knife Company. Today, the company continues to produce knives under its own name and licenses the brand to other companies.

There are three main types of Achi's. Each of these types has their own advantages and disadvantages. We will go through each type below.

Fixed Blade Achi's. Fixed blade Achi's are the original version of the knife. They consist of two halves that lock together to create a handle. When closed, the blades are parallel to each other. This allows the user to use the knife in a variety of ways. For example, you could cut paper, open cans, chop vegetables, etc. With a fixed blade Achi, you cannot change the angle of the blade without opening up the handles. This makes it harder to perform tasks like cutting food.

Achi's with Lockback Blades. These are exactly what they sound like. The blades fold away from the body of the knife and lock behind the body of the knife. This gives the knife a nice sleek look. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot adjust the angle of the blade without opening up the handles. This makes it impossible to use the knife in any task that requires precision. Also, the locking mechanism can fail.

Achi's with Drop Point Blades. Drop point blades are essentially the opposite of lock backs. The blades drop down towards the bottom of the knife instead of locking behind the body. This allows the user to easily adjust the angle of the blade. However, this also makes it impossible to close the knife without opening up the handles. This makes it nearly useless for anything except chopping wood.

If you plan on doing a lot of cooking you should definitely consider getting a fixed blade Achi. These are inexpensive durable and versatile. On the flip side they are not really meant for everyday use. If you are going to be using the knife for things like slicing bread chopping veggies etc.
