How To Choose The Best Cold Steel Secret Edge

Cold Steel has been making knives since 1884, but they didn't start selling their products online until 2013. Since then, they have become one of the biggest names in knife manufacturing, and now they sell everything from kitchen cutlery to tactical gear. They also make some of the best fixed blades around, and today we're going to show you how to get the best deal on one of their top sellers - the Cold Steel Secret Edge Knife.

What Is A Cold Steel Secret Edge?

Cold Steel has been making knives for over 30 years now. They make some of the best quality fixed blades available today. Their products are well known for their high performance, durability, and value. The company was founded in 1985 by Robert W. "Bob" Carpenter who wanted to create a knife that would perform better than anything else on the market at the time. He created the first Cold Steel knife called the Cold Steel Hunter. This knife became an instant success and led to the creation of many more models including the Cold Steel Spyderco. Today, Cold Steel still makes all of its knives using only American made materials. All of their knives are hand forged and heat treated in house. Bob Carpenter passed away in 2011 but his legacy lives on through his son Chris Carpenter who continues to run the business.

The Cold Steel Spyderco

The Cold Steel Spyderco is a folding knife that features a 3.5 inch blade made from CPM S30V stainless steel. It comes with a black G10 handle and a lanyard hole. The Spyderco is perfect for everyday carry because it folds up small enough to fit into any pocket.

Who Needs A Cold Steel Secret Edge?

Cold Steel has been around since the early 1980s. Since then, they've become one of the most trusted names in knives. Their products are known for being tough, durable, and reliable. But did you know that Cold Steel makes other tools besides knives?

We'll talk about how it compares to other knives, and we'll tell you whether it's worth buying.

The Cold Steel Secret Edge is a multi-purpose knife. It comes with a blade made of stainless steel. It's designed to cut through anything you throw at it. It's perfect for cutting paper, cardboard, plastic, wood, leather, fabric, rope, and metal. It's also ideal for slicing bread, tomatoes, cheese, and meat.

It features a drop point style blade. This type of blade has a long spine that tapers down to a point. This design allows you to easily slice through food while keeping the tip protected.

This knife has a black G10 handle. G10 is a synthetic material that's similar to rubber. It's lightweight and flexible. It's also water resistant, which means you can use it outdoors.

The Cold Steel Secret Edge is a versatile tool. It's great for camping trips, tailgating, fishing, hiking, hunting, and home improvement projects. It's also a great kitchen knife.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Cold Steel Secret Edge

Cold Steel knives have become one of my favorite tools. I use them every single day. They've helped me hunt game, fish, and even skin small game. And now they're helping me write articles like this one!

I'm going to tell you how to find the best Cold Steel knife for your needs. You'll learn about the different types of blades available, what features you should look for, and where to buy a great Cold Steel Knife. So let's begin!

There are two main categories of Cold Steel Knives: Fixed Blade and Folded Blades. A fixed blade is a traditional style knife. These knives usually come with a handle wrapped around a flat, straight blade. This type of knife is perfect for cutting food and opening cans. On the other hand, folded blades are designed to fold up into a compact package. These knives are ideal for camping trips, fishing, and hunting. There are many advantages to folding blades. For example, they take up less space than their fixed blade counterparts. Another advantage of folding blades is that they are easier to carry. Because they fold up, they won't accidentally open if dropped.

Now that we've covered the basic differences between fixed and folded blades, let's talk about the most popular models. First, there is the Cold Steel Classic. The Classic is a classic design. It's a very simple looking knife. It's got a black finish and a plain, unadorned handle. The Classic is a great starter model. It's affordable, durable, and easy to maintain. Next, there is the Cold Steel Protege. The Protege is similar to the Classic, except it has a slightly larger blade. It's a bit heavier than the Classic, but it's still lightweight. Plus, the Protege has a nice balance point. The Protege is a great option for beginners who want something that looks cool and feels solid. Lastly, there is the Cold Steel Samurai. The Samurai is a heavy duty version of the Protege.

Features To Consider When Buying A Cold Steel Secret Edge

Blade length. The longer the blade, the more effective it is against game. But, if you're new to knives, you may want something shorter than a full tang knife. That way, you can practice using the knife safely while still having enough reach to do damage.

Handle material. Some handle materials are easier to sharpen than others. For example, carbon steels tend to hold their sharpness longer than stainless steel. Stainless steel tends to dull faster, though.

Edge type. There are two types of edges: flat and serrated. Flat edges are typically used for skinning and filleting cuts. Serrated edges are great for slicing through tough meat and bone. They're also useful for cutting vegetables and fruit.

Weight. Knives with heavier blades weigh less and are easier to carry. However, they're harder to control during use. Lighter weight knives are easier to maneuver and control, but they're more difficult to wield.

Stainless steel. Most modern stainless steel knives feature a satin finish. Satin finishes are smooth and shiny. This gives them a sleek appearance, but they wear down quickly. Polished stainless steel has a matte finish and doesn't show scratches as easily. Both types of stainless steel are durable and corrosion resistant.

Length. Longer blades give you more leverage when you cut. Short blades limit how far you can extend your arm. And, short blades are easier to store in your pocket or purse.

Tip shape. Round tips are popular among hunters who prefer to use a traditional grip. Square tips are ideal for those who prefer a western style grip. Triangular tips are great for lefties.

Serrations. Serrated edges are great for slicing through food. But, they leave behind jagged pieces of meat and bone. These can cause injury and slow bleeding. Sharpening these edges takes time and patience. Plus, you'll need special tools to properly sharpen them.
