How To Choose The Best Cold Steel Double Agent

Cold Steel has been making knives since 1884, but they didn't start producing their own line until 2003. Since then, they have released over 50 different knife designs, ranging from folding pocketknives to hunting knives. Their Double Agent is one of their more unique offerings, as it combines two blades into one handle. This allows you to carry both blades separately, or use them simultaneously.

What Is A Cold Steel Double Agent?

The Cold Steel Double Agent is an excellent knife for those who prefer a folding knife but want something more than just a basic folder. The Cold Steel Double Agent has all the features of a traditional folder, including a drop point blade made from high quality stainless steel, a reversible pocket clip, and a lanyard hole. However, this model comes with some unique features like a hidden lockback mechanism, a removable thumb stud, and a spring assisted auto open mechanism.

Who needs a Cold Steel Double Agent?

Cold Steel has been around since the early 1980s. Their knives are known for being durable and reliable. But did you know that they also make some pretty cool kitchen tools?

The company makes everything from cutting boards to spatulas. And now, they've expanded their line of kitchen tools to include a new knife called the Double Agent.

This knife features a unique design. Instead of using traditional serrations, this model uses a set of teeth along its edge. These teeth aren't meant to cut through things. Rather, they're designed to grab hold of whatever you're working with. Then, you simply pull the knife away to slice off pieces.

It's a clever idea. And one that works really well. I tried it myself. I grabbed my Double Agent and sliced open a bag of potato chips. Sure enough, the teeth were able to grab hold of the chips and then easily pulled them apart. No problem.

I was impressed. Not only does this knife look nice, but it performs well as well.

But wait.there's more. Cold Steel has made another version of the Double Agent. This time, however, it comes with a wooden handle. The wood adds a bit of style to the knife while also providing extra grip. It's a smart move.

There's no doubt that this knife looks great. But how does it perform? Let's take a closer look.

To start, let's talk about the size. At 5 inches long, this knife isn't very big. However, it's still large enough to tackle most tasks. And thanks to the teeth, it's also strong enough to do the job.

Next, we'll discuss the shape. Like other models in the Double Agent lineup, this knife features a drop point tip. This type of tip allows you to use the knife effectively for slicing and chopping. It's perfect for tasks such as mincing garlic cloves or dicing onions.

Speaking of which, this knife is ideal for these types of jobs. Because of its drop point tip, you can use the knife to chop food without worrying about accidentally nicking yourself. And thanks to the teeth, you can easily remove any bits of food that slip past the blade.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Cold Steel Double Agent

Cold Steel knives have become one of my favorite tools for hunting. I use them every single day. They're easy to carry, they're lightweight, and they're extremely versatile. When I'm camping, fishing, hiking, or just relaxing, I love having a knife handy. And since most of my knives come in a sheath, I never leave home without them. So, if you're looking for a great knife, then you've found the perfect tool. Let me tell you about the Cold Steel Double Agent.

This knife features a 1095 carbon stainless steel blade with a satin finish. This means that the blade is polished so that it looks like glass. The handle scales are black G10 wood. These scales provide excellent grip and durability. The handle itself is ergonomically designed to offer maximum control and balance. The thumb stud allows for quick deployment of the blade. There are two finger grooves located along the spine of the handle. These grooves aid in controlling the blade by allowing you to slide your fingers up and down the handle. A lanyard hole is located near the tip of the blade. This makes it easier to attach the lanyard to the knife.

If you want a knife that's going to perform flawlessly, then you'll definitely want to invest in a Cold Steel Double Agent. This knife is built to take whatever life throws at it. It's tough, durable, and reliable. Plus, it's affordable. Buy yours now!

Features To Consider When Buying A Cold Steel Double Agent

Blade length. The longer the knife, the more effective it is at cutting through tough materials. Longer blades mean they're easier to control and maneuver. But if you plan on using this knife for self defense, you may want something shorter.

Handle material. Some knives feature wood handles while others are made of metal. Wood tends to hold its shape well over time, whereas metal can become brittle and break easily. Metal handles tend to be lighter than wooden ones, though, so they're easier to handle.

Weight. Knives with heavier weights are usually stronger and more durable. They're great for chopping vegetables, slicing bread, and other tasks where you need a strong blade. However, they're harder to carry around and less portable than their lighter counterparts.

Edge type. There are two types of edges on most knives: serrated and straight. Serrated edges cut faster and are ideal for slicing food. Straight edges are generally sharper and are better suited for chopping and piercing.

Stainless steel vs. carbon steel. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant, meaning it doesn't rust. Carbon steel has a softer edge and is more flexible. This makes them better for tasks such as skinning animals or carving meat.

Size. Most knives fall into three categories: pocket knives, folders, and fixed blades. Pocket knives are smaller, foldable versions of full-size knives. Folders are larger, fixed-blade knives that close with a locking mechanism. Fixed blades are the largest category of knives.

Tip shape. Round tips are used for precision work. Flat tips are useful for general purpose cuts. Triangular tips are used for filleting fish.

Blade thickness. Blade thickness determines how sharp the knife can be. Thicker blades are typically tougher and sturdier. Thin blades are easier to sharpen and maintain.

Length. Knife length varies depending on the task. Short knives are perfect for opening cans and bottles.

Different Types Of Cold Steel Double Agent

Cold Steel’s Double Agent line of knives was created by combining two blades into one handle. Each model features a full tang construction and a black G10 handle. The handles are ergonomically shaped and contoured for comfort and control. All models feature a drop point style blade with a thumb ramp and finger choil. The blades are hollow ground and sharpened on each side. The scales are stainless steel and the bolsters are aluminum.

The Double Agent Series includes three models; the Double Agent Fixed Blade, Double Agent Tactical Knife, and Double Agent Utility Knife. The Double Agent Fixed Blade is a traditional folder with a 3.5 inch clip assisted opening mechanism. The Double Agent Tactical Knife is a tactical folding knife with a 4.0 inch clip assisted opening mechanism. The Double Agent Utility Knife is a utility knife with a 2.75 inch clip assisted opening mechanism.

Each model in the Double Agent Series features a black G10 handle and a black nylon sheath.
