How To Choose The Best Cold Steel Chaos Tanto

Cold Steel has been making quality knives since the early 1980s, and their products have become synonymous with good value and durability. Their latest offering is the Cold Steel Chaos Tanto, a knife designed specifically for close quarters combat. This review looks at what makes the Chaos Tanto such a great option for those who want a compact fighting knife.

What Is A Cold Steel Chaos Tanto?

The Cold Steel Chaos Tanto is an excellent knife for everyday carry. It has been made famous through its appearance in several movies including The Matrix Reloaded, The Dark Knight, and more recently in the movie American Sniper. This knife was created by Chris Reeve who wanted a knife he could take anywhere without worrying about getting caught carrying around a big blade. He came up with this design after seeing how well his friend carried a folding pocketknife while working at a construction site.

This knife features a 3.5 inch drop point blade made from 1095 carbon steel. It comes with a black G10 handle and a lanyard hole. The tanto style blade allows for easy penetration and makes it perfect for stabbing and cutting. It also includes a reversible tip making it ideal for left handed users. The Cold Steel Chaos Tanto is available in both right and left hand versions.

Where Can I Buy A Cold Steel Chaos Tanto?

You can also buy it directly from Cold Steel if you live near a retail location.

Who Needs A Cold Steel Kukri Knife?

Kukris are traditional Nepalese knives. They were originally used for farming and harvesting crops. Today, kukris are still widely used in Nepal and India. Some people say that they're the best farmers' knives. Others claim that they're the ultimate bushcraft knives. Either way, they're awesome.

They're also useful for self-defense. They're compact, light, and easy to wield. They're also inexpensive. Plus, they're extremely durable. So, if you're looking for a quality knife, check out the Cold Steel Kukri Knife.

Here's how to use it: First, remove the sheath. Next, hold the knife horizontally. Then, grip the top part of the handle. Finally, turn the blade until it locks into position. Now, you're ready to cut anything.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Cold Steel Chaos Tanto

Cold Steel is one of my favorite knife makers. Their products have become synonymous with quality and innovation. I love their designs and how they incorporate modern technology into traditional Japanese bladesmith techniques. They've even developed a line of pocket knives called "Chaos" that are designed specifically for law enforcement use. These knives feature unique blade shapes and materials that provide superior performance in extreme conditions. One such knife is the Cold Steel Chaos Tanto.

I recently received a chance to review the Cold Steel Chaos Tanto. This knife features a titanium handle and a carbon steel blade. The blade is hollow ground and hand forged. The blade shape is similar to a katana style tanto. The blade is very thin, making it ideal for concealed carry applications. The blade is extremely sharp, especially considering the size of the knife. The handle is ergonomically shaped and textured to provide excellent grip. The black G10 scales offer exceptional durability and resistance to wear. Overall, this is a great knife for any type of application where stealth is required. You'll find this knife in many police departments across the country.

Blade shape. The blade shape of a knife has many advantages, including how well it cuts through food. But there's more to a great knife than just its cutting ability. Blade shape affects other aspects of a knife, such as balance and comfort.

Blade design. Blades made from stainless steel are strong and durable, while blades made from carbon steel tend to rust over time. Stainless steel blades are often preferred because they resist corrosion and maintain their sharpness longer than carbon steel blades. However, carbon steel blades may hold an edge longer than stainless steel blades.

Edge geometry. Knife edges are important because they affect how easily a knife slices through food. Some knives feature straight razor-sharp edges, while others have serrated edges, which cut more slowly but allow for easier slicing. Sharpening stones are used to sharpen these edges.

Handle material. Knives with wooden handles are typically lighter and less expensive than those with metal handles. Metal handles are stronger and more durable, but they're heavier and more costly.

Comfort. Comfort refers to how comfortable a knife feels in your hand. This is especially true if you plan to carry a knife regularly. Choose a handle that fits comfortably in your hand and doesn't slip off your fingers. Handle materials can also affect comfort. Leather handles are soft and smooth, while textured grips add grip and control.

Size. Smaller knives are easier to conceal and are ideal for everyday tasks. Larger knives are useful for larger jobs, like chopping large amounts of meat or vegetables.

Weight. Heavy knives are harder to wield and are more difficult to store. Lightweight knives are easier to maneuver and are easier to stow away. They're also easier to transport and carry.

Finish. Many knives can be customized with custom finishes. These finishes can range from simple color coatings to exotic designs. Customized finishes can improve the appearance of a knife and give it a unique style.

Different Types Of Cold Steel Chaos Tanto

Cold Steel is known for making quality knives. Their line of Chaos Knives are no exception. Each knife is hand forged by master craftsmen. They are built to last and feature top notch materials. Here we will look at three of their tanto blades.

Chaos Tanto. This is the classic Cold Steel tanto blade. It features a full tang construction and a drop point style tip. It is a versatile weapon that works well for hunting, self defense, and everyday use. It is a good general purpose tanto.

Crimson Tanto. This is a shorter version of the Chaos Tanto. It is slightly thinner and lighter than its larger brother. It is a great tool for close quarters fighting. It is especially useful for stabbing and cutting through clothing.

Black Tanto. This is a longer version of the Crimson Tanto. It is heavier and stronger than the smaller model. It is a great all rounder. It is great for everything from carving meat to chopping wood.
