How To Choose The Best Cold Steel Bokken

They were originally forged from iron but today they are made from carbon steel. The blade is usually around 30 cm long and has a curved hilt and guard. This type of sword was traditionally carried by foot soldiers as well as mounted cavalrymen. Today, however, modern bokkens are often used for self defense purposes.

What Is A Cold Steel Bokken?

The word "bokken" comes from the verb "to strike". In Japan, there are many different types of bokkens, but all of them share some common features. They are made of wood, typically hardwood like hinoki, kiri, or tanegashima, and are about 30 inches long. Most bokkens are curved at both ends, although straight ones exist. There are two main styles of bokken; the traditional style has a flat striking surface, while the modern style has a concave striking surface. Both styles are commonly used in practice and competition.

Why Should I Buy A Cold Steel Bokken?

The Cold Steel bokken is an excellent choice if you want a high quality bokken that will last a lifetime. It is manufactured using only the best materials available, including Japanese hinoki wood, stainless steel fittings, and black lacquer. This combination makes the bokken extremely durable and easy to maintain.

Who Needs A Cold Steel Bokken?

The Cold Steel bokken is one of our most popular swords. We sell thousands of these every year. Why do we think this is such a great product? Because it works.

We know how important it is to practice safely. That's why we offer a lifetime warranty on any Cold Steel products purchased directly through us. If anything goes wrong, simply send back the item within 30 days of purchase and we'll fix it free of charge. No questions asked.

Our bokkens are perfect for beginners and experts alike. Whether you're learning new techniques or refining existing skills, the Cold Steel bokken will take you far.

Cold Steel bokkens are built tough. Each blade features a hardened carbon steel core surrounded by a durable black polyurethane coating. These blades are strong enough to withstand rigorous daily use while remaining lightweight and comfortable to hold. The handles feature a soft grip material that provides excellent comfort during extended periods of practice.

Each bokken comes complete with a leather sheath. Our sheaths are handcrafted using premium vegetable tanned cowhide that has been treated with water based tanning agents. Leather sheaths are highly resistant to moisture and wear and tear. They are also extremely flexible, which makes them ideal for practicing advanced techniques.

All Cold Steel bokkens are shipped with a wooden block. This allows you to easily adjust the length of the bokken to suit your height. Simply slide the end cap off the handle and move the block along the shaft until the desired length is achieved.

Bokken are sold individually. However, we recommend purchasing multiple sets of bokkens to ensure that you receive the correct size for your arms. To determine your arm span, measure around the widest part of your upper arm. Then add two inches to this measurement.

Please note that bokkens are sold separately. When ordering, please specify whether you require a left handed or right handed set.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Cold Steel Bokken

If you've ever watched any karate movies, then you have probably seen a bokken. A bokken is a wooden practice weapon used by many different styles of Karate. They come in various sizes and shapes, so they are perfect for beginners and experts alike. There are many different types of bokkens available, including those designed specifically for use in self defense. So if you want to learn how to defend yourself, then you should definitely invest in a quality bokken. Here are some reasons why you should purchase a quality bokken:

It's durable. When you buy a cheap bokken, you'll find that it won't hold up very well. Cheap bokkens tend to break easily. On the other hand, high end bokkens are built to withstand years of heavy use. You can expect them to last for decades.

It's affordable. While buying a high end bokken may seem like a luxury, it doesn't cost a fortune. This makes them affordable for anyone who wants to try their hand at learning karate.

It's versatile. No matter whether you're just starting out or you already have experience, a quality bokken will work great for you. Plus, since they're lightweight, you can take them anywhere.

They're easy to maintain. Since bokkens are wood, they're naturally resistant to moisture. This means that they won't warp or rot. And because they're made from natural materials, they won't attract bugs either. All you need to do is wipe down your bokken regularly to keep it clean.

You can customize your bokken. Because bokkens are made from wood, they can be customized to suit your needs. For example, you can add grips, blades, pommels, and handles to create a unique custom design.

Features To Consider When Buying A Cold Steel Bokken

Quality materials. The first step in purchasing a quality martial art weapon is finding a reputable brand. That way, you know you're getting something made by someone who knows their craft. Look for a company that uses only top-grade materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and wood. These materials are durable and strong, which means they'll stand up well over time.

Comfortable grip. When you're using a martial art weapon, comfort matters. Look for a comfortable handle that feels right in your hand. This will allow you to hold the weapon comfortably while practicing your techniques.

Easy maintenance. After years of practice, your weapons will start to show signs of wear. Make sure you take care of them properly so you can maintain their appearance and performance.

Durability. Martial art weapons are meant to withstand heavy use. They may even be used during sparring matches. Look for a weapon that has been tested to ensure its durability. You can do this by reading reviews online or asking other users about how well the weapon holds up under tough conditions.

Safety features. Safety is important when it comes to martial arts weapons. Look for a weapon that provides safety features like guards and sheaths. Guards prevent accidents by covering sharp edges and preventing injuries. Sheaths protect against accidental cuts and bruises.

Accessories. Some companies sell accessories separately. Others bundle them together. Accessories can include protective gear, cleaning supplies, and more.

Cost. Buying a martial art weapon isn't always inexpensive. However, there are ways to cut costs. First, compare prices on different models. Then, check if the manufacturer sells items individually instead of bundled together. Finally, ask friends and family members if they'd be willing to trade or sell you theirs.

Different Types Of Cold Steel Bokken

Cold Steel Bokkens are a staple part of any martial artist's arsenal. They are used for everything from striking to grappling. They are also used for self defense purposes. A good quality bokken should feel comfortable in your hand. It should also be light enough to swing easily without causing fatigue. Here are some of the main differences between various brands of Cold Steel Bokken.

Bokken Length. Bokken length refers to how long the blade is relative to its overall size. Longer blades are better for cutting and chopping motions whereas shorter blades are better for thrusting attacks. Shorter blades are also lighter and less likely to break.

Blade Material. Blade material determines how well the blade holds up under stress. Hardened steel blades are stronger than softer materials. Soft metals are cheaper and easier to sharpen. However, hardened steel blades hold up longer and last longer.

Handle Grip. Handles grip refers to the shape of the handle. Round handles are soft and offer little resistance. Square handles are harder and offer more support. Oval handles are somewhere in between.

Weight. Weight refers to how heavy the bokken is. Heavy bokken are heavier and therefore harder to wield. Lightweight bokken are easier to use and maneuver.

Overall Quality. Overall quality refers to the craftsmanship of the bokken. High end bokken are built by master craftsmen. Low end bokken are mass produced and sometimes poorly constructed.
