How To Choose The Best Benchmade Everyday Carry

Benchmade has been making quality knives since 1884, and their products have become synonymous with excellence. If you're looking for a new knife, check out our review of the Benchmade Everyday Carry Knife.

What Is A Benchmade Everyday Carry?

The term "everyday carry" refers to carrying a knife for protection, whether it be at home, work, school, or while traveling. This means that the knife must be small enough to fit comfortably in these areas, but still provide some level of functionality. It also means that the knife must be able to perform tasks like cutting paper, opening cans, slicing fruits and vegetables, and even skinning animals.

Why Would I Want An Edc Knife?

An everyday carry knife will help you feel more comfortable around sharp objects. You won't need to worry about accidentally stabbing yourself if you're holding something else in your hand. If you're going camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, or just hanging out with friends, an everyday carry knife will make you feel safer and more confident.

Who needs a Benchmade Everyday Carry?

When I was younger, my dad had a set of Benchmade Knives he carried every day. He taught me how to use them properly and safely. Nowadays, I still carry one of his Benchmade folders. But I'm not sure if I'd call myself an "everyday carry" kind of guy. After all, I do live in New York City where we have our share of crime. Still, I think I could learn a thing or two from this man. Here's why.

I love using my Benchmade folder. It has a nice balance of size and weight. It feels comfortable in my hand. And it fits perfectly in my pocket. I know that sounds silly since most people carry a gun. But I prefer carrying a tool that's useful rather than a weapon. Besides, I wouldn't want to accidentally shoot someone while I'm trying to open a door.

But I'm not alone. Many men carry tools around with them. Some carry a Swiss Army Knife. Others carry a Leatherman. Still others carry a penknife. What makes these guys special? Why would anyone carry a tool other than a gun?

The best part about carrying a tool is that it doesn't look like a weapon. Most people don't notice it. And if they did, they probably wouldn't stop you. At least, not until you pull it out. Then, they might ask questions. But chances are, they'll let you continue on your way. Because they recognize that you're only doing what any responsible person does - protecting themselves.

Carrying a tool gives you peace of mind. When you're walking down the street, you don't have to worry about being mugged. Sure, you could run away. But what happens then? You'd likely end up running back home. And maybe you'd never see your wallet again. Not to mention, you'd probably miss your phone. And you'd certainly miss your keys. Which means you'd have to walk all over town looking for them.

Instead, you can simply grab your tool and start opening doors. No fuss. No muss. And no mess.

Plus, carrying a tool lets you protect yourself against unexpected situations. Like getting locked out of your car. Or finding yourself stranded somewhere far from home. Or needing to cut through metal. Or cutting wood. Or breaking glass. Or climbing stairs. Or digging holes. Or lifting heavy objects. Or moving furniture.

In short, carrying a tool allows you to perform tasks that require strength, dexterity, precision, and stamina.

The Importance Of Purchasing A Quality Benchmade Everyday Carry

If you want to have a great camping experience, then you'll need to prepare properly. You'll need to pack everything you need so that you won't have any unnecessary items cluttering up your campsite. One thing you should definitely bring along is a quality knife. A quality knife will provide you with years of reliable service. This means that you'll never have to worry about having to replace your knife because it broke. Instead, you'll just buy another one.

Look for a blade that feels solid. When you hold a knife, do you notice how heavy it feels? Do you notice if it feels like it could break easily? If you find that the handle is light, then you may want to think twice about buying it. Heavy handles are better because they offer greater control. They also prevent the knife from slipping out of your hand. Light handles are easier to grip, but they lack the strength needed to perform certain tasks. For example, you might use a lightweight knife to open a tin of beans. On the other hand, a heavier knife would work best for opening a jar of peanut butter.

Consider the shape of the blade. Does the blade seem sharp? Is it easy to sharpen? How many different types of blades does the knife come with? These questions will help you determine whether or not you need to purchase additional accessories. For instance, if you plan on using the knife for cutting food, then you'll probably want to invest in a steak knife set. If you plan on using the knife for skinning game meat, then you'll probably want to invest in a hunting knife set.

Think about the size of the blade. Are you planning on carrying the knife in your pocket or your backpack? If you plan on carrying your knife in your pocket, then you'll want a smaller blade. If you plan on carrying your knife in your backpack, then you'll want something larger. Larger blades are better because they're easier to conceal.

Features To Consider When Buying A Benchmade Everyday Carry

Blade shape. The blade shape of a knife has a big impact on how well it performs. Consider the type of work you do when selecting a knife. Do you spend most of your time using the tip of the blade? Then you may want a pointy tip. Alternatively, if you're more comfortable using the entire length of the blade, then you may prefer a straight edge.

Handle material. Knives made from carbon steel are strong and durable. But they tend to rust over time. Stainless steel blades resist corrosion and maintain their sharpness longer than carbon steel blades. However, stainless steel tends to dull faster than carbon steel. That means you'll need to sharpen them more often.

Edge geometry. Some knives feature a drop point, while others have a clip point. Drop points are great for cutting through thick materials such as wood and bone. Clip points are ideal for slicing thinner items like tomatoes and cheese.

Lock mechanism. Most knives have either a flipper lock or a linerlock. Flippers locks allow you to easily change between right-handed and left-handed operation. Linerlocks are less expensive and easier to operate than flipper locks. They also prevent accidental opening.

Weight. Heavy knives are stronger and more stable. Lightweight knives are easier to handle and maneuver. But they lack strength and stability.

Length. Longer knives are easier to control and hold steady during chopping tasks. Short knives are easier to store and transport.

Tip. Sharpening tools are available for both types of knives. Use a honing rod to hone the edge of a flat ground knife. Use a stone to polish the edge of a serrated knife.

Warranty. Many manufacturers offer limited warranties on their knives. Check the warranty to ensure the manufacturer covers repairs or replacements.

Value. When you're shopping for a new knife, compare prices on different models and sizes. You might also want to check reviews online to learn about customer experiences with each model.
