Buyer's Guide

A Review of the Crkt Drifter Knife

The CRKT Drifter is one of the knives that is most often reviewed on knife forums. This is probably because this is one of the more high quality knives you can buy. The reason why the Drifters are so popular is because they are designed by a major knife maker in the world, which means they are made to last. This article will review the CRKT Drifter knife as s reviewed the knife blade, the handle, its several uses, reliability and the s tand blade.

The handle of the CRKT Drifter is textured, making for an excellent grip. When I bought this knife, I did not have any issues with the grip. Most of the knives that I have are much heavier than the Drifters, which makes it difficult for me to hold onto while working with them. So, the textured grip was a welcome change. You can tell right away that the grip is made well, and the company definitely put lots of thought into the design and usability of the knives.

The blade itself is made out of high carbon stainless steel. The blade is a little bigger than average, but still quite thin. I have used many heavier knives, and the Drifters feel like they are much lighter than some of the heavier knives. The G10 liners are what make the knife so durable, but they are easily damaged. So, be sure to keep this in mind when you are cleaning the blade.

On the sides of the handle, there are grooves that extend down past the gripping fingers. These grooves allow the knife to be slipped into and out of the Clip. When you first get the knife, you will notice that there is not an easy way to open the case; but, after using the knife a few times, the Clips snap right into place. To close the case, all you have to do is slip the Clip over the handle and pull it down. It's that easy!

The blades of the knives are very straight and strong. Because of their construction, they are designed for ease of use, but, they also are available in a variety of different lengths. The biggest difference is found between the two length selections of blades. Between one and two inches, the larger size of these blades offer a stiffer feel on the edges.

The traditional style of the knife has a full butt blade and a full flap in the back. This is designed to protect the tip of the knife from damage while cutting and prevent it from sticking to anything when it is in use. The full flap allows for fluid movement of the knife in your hand, which means that you can easily work on your projects without having to take your attention off the front of your body. These Flaps also keep the thumb stud tucked into the pocket of the knife. This keeps the Stud safe and protected from damage.

Each of the knives have a stainless steel blade with a drop point. The drop point is designed to be able to cut through harder substances without damaging them. These knives are also equipped with a black nylon pouch that is used to carry the knife comfortably. All of the equipment, except for the drop point, is standard on each model. Some models have a thumb stud attached to the handle for added safety.

The crkt drifter knife is extremely versatile and comes in handy for many different jobs. It's ergonomic design makes it perfect for opening cans, lifting heavy boxes, or cleaning up hard surfaces. There are even some models available that feature the patented Tungsten Carbide blade. These knives are perfect for landscapers and contractors because they're not only compact, but extremely powerful as well.
